Like a dictionary has words with various meanings, in a directory too a name or a word / phrase could link to various sites or pages on internet. Directory Submit is one of the fastest and effective ways to submit a particular site / webpage on Search Engines / directories.

How to get maximum number of people surf a website? Link building plays an important role in getting increased traffic to a website. Before Starting a professional Link Building Campaign a website should be reviewed and keywords should be identified so that the benefits can be reaped out of the link building campaign.

Does all this sound simple? Well not when it comes to Page Rank or PR as it is popularly known as. Did you know that "PageRank" is Google's trademark? The PageRank process has been patented (U.S. Patent 6,285,999). It was developed by Larry Page of Stanford University and hence the name Page Rank. Interestingly, Google has exclusive license rights on the patent issued to Stanford University.

PageRank is a numeric value which tells the probability that a person will visit a particular page. It signifies how important a page is on the World Wide Web. Since in a Page Rank process the distribution is evenly divided between all documents, a page which is linked to multiple pages with high page rank will fetch high rank for itself.

How does Page Rank work? Google assigns a number from 0-10 for each webpage on the Internet which depicts a site’s importance as per Google. A probability is expressed as a number between 0 and 1. A 0.5 probability signifies that there is 50% likelihood of something happening, therefore, a Page Rank of 0.25 means that there is 25% chance of a person clicking that particular page. Let's understand this with an example - Let's take four web pages P, Q, R, and S on internet. Since the approximation will be divided equally amongst the pages, each document will have a Page Rank of 0.25. If pages Q, R, and S each only link to P, they would each confer 0.25 PageRank to P. Thus, Page P will get a higher Page Rank of 0.75 [0.25+0.25+0.25].

The Google Toolbar's PageRank feature represents the most popular page visited with a Page Rank of 10 [which is the highest].
