This tiny matchbox of a country Slovenia or republic of Slovenia in central-east Europe is bordered by Austria in the north; Hungary in the north east, Croatia in the east and south, Italy in the west and the Adriatic Sea caresses its south west border. Holidays Slovenia In spite of its diminutive size, Slovenia with its mysterious charm has much to offer to its visitors in terms of pristine and virgin natural beauty. You will be bowled over by the originality and scenic splendor of this largely unexplored and lesser known, less hyped east European republic which knows how to warm its way into the hearts of visitors via the serene tranquility of its peaceful countrysides. The affability and warm hospitality of the Slovenian inhabitants combine with the verdant gorgeousness of the primeval forests and lush vineyards, the elegant white horses of Lipica, the picturesque beauty of Lake Bled and the spectacular Postojna Cave to give you a rare glimpse into Slovenian mystery and flavor. Perhaps the best way to explore the natural treasures of Slovenian countryside is to opt for camping. In fact, most tourists try out heavy duty camping in Slovenia once they hit the countrysides. Camping Bled Camping Bled is situated on the western tip of Lake Bled. There is a small beach open to the public which forms the water front. Its back is softly caressed by a gently running wooded valley that is quite narrow and slopes down slowly. There are 280 pitches in total, enveloped and separated by trees which can be used by over night camp crowds. The quiet and calm of the natural surroundings is broken at times by the screech and whistle of trains trundling out of high tunnels that overlook this attractive camp site. Camping Ljubljana While Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia and bustling with life, if you impregnate deep into Slovenian countryside and that too by only 5 kms north of Ljubljana’s central district, you will embark upon the banks of river Sava and the whole atmosphere is peacefully quiet, serene and tranquilly charming. This is an ideal city camp site, not too far inland, at a safe distance from the hustle and bustle of urban cacophony and yet far from the madding crowd. It is an ideal place to relax; if you want you can take a refreshing swim in the Laguna swimming pool complex that is sparklingly modern but separated from the camping site in spite of being attached to it. There are takeaway counters, restaurants and several bars to offer you refreshments and there are operational toilet blocks as well. The whole complex is enveloped on all sides by tall trees which form a green canopy overhead. Camping Piran It has earned the sobriquet – the Dubrovnik of north Adriatic and not without reason for it resembles the Adriatic jewel Dubrovnik in the south in more ways than one. This beautiful medieval Mediterranean town exudes an old world charm that is hard to miss and the best way to explore it is by camping in the countrysides close to it. Camping Portorož This is another camping site, perhaps the most important one in the Slovenian coastline, located only a few miles farther than Piran and takes only half an hour’s walk from Piran.
