Dr. Terry Brazelton

Dr. Terry Brazelton is a highly esteemed doctor, Professor, writer, speaker and researcher who has written 38 books on pediatrics and child development. Dr. Terry Brazelton has been the recipient of numerous awards for his outstanding knowledge and service as a medical professional.

Among Dr. Brazelton's awards were an Honorary Doctor of Letters degree by Russell Sage College, and Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson Award for Public Service, both received in 1988, the Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Northeastern University in 1990, honorary degrees from Wheelock and Wheaton Colleges in 1991, and the Honoris Causa from the University of Lisbon, Portugal in 1992, which is their highest honorary degree.

Over the next 8 years of his life, Dr. Brazelton went on to receive an honorary doctorate from Loyola University, an honorary doctorate from the University of Massachusetts, Doctor of Laws from Boston College, and the "Hero Award" from the Robin Hood Foundation. The Robin Hood Foundation is a charity that fights poverty in New York.

Dr. Brazelton has accomplished many more things to numerous to mention, and has become a legend in the fields of child development and child psychiatry. Dr. Brazelton is the founder of the "Touchpoints Project" which has now grown to exist in 22 different states and 60 communities. The "Touchpoints Project" trains professionals to better serve families with babies and is a preventive outreach program.

Many parents read books written by Dr. Brazelton and gain vast amounts of knowledge from his expert advice. His book titled "Infants and Mothers" has been read by well over a million families in this country alone, and is also available in 18 languages.

Dr. Brazelton's legacy will far outlive him, and individuals will continue to gain knowledge and advice from his many books, and programs. Dr. Brazelton is truly a one of a kind person and doctor.
