Okay, now you’re probably asking yourself every time you visit a decent blog, with a shiny theme, with a sweet domain name, with an email like admin@yaddayaddablog.com “How much does it costs to keep it?”. I went to a domain selling company (I won’t gonna mention it, because I don’t want trouble and threats or so), which sells a lot of stuff, along with domains, like hosting, email and so on. The funniest thing is tho, that domain itself (.com) costs 10$ a year. Domain is the main power of a site, no matter if your site will be prettiest in this century, no one will take it seriously if it will look like mysite.chickenhosting.biz . So, as I was saying, domain costs few bucks, WHILE hosting service, email services, costs about 10$ a month EACH (I mean good, without or with a very few restrictions). When I think about it, it’s ridiculous (at least for me). Now I will tell you a secret. I’ve never paid a penny for my blog. Yes, my domain name isn’t perfect, co.cc ending is, I guess, closest possible free option towards a good looking domain name. But look what I have! I have an email, like david@googleseowithdavid.co.cc , I have a blog, without ads (ads which are useless for me), I have 20GB of monthly traffic, and 1GB of server’s hard disk space. I could buy a .com domain for 10$ a year, but I have a mission. I want to prove for a world, that totally free site could be as successful, as paid one, with fancy graphics, design, domain name and stuff. But of course, you don’t care why do I do that? My thoughts are telling me that you probably ask how… Well, I can’t write a step-by-step tutorial in my blog. I am thinking about releasing a video, called something like “Fryiest Free, not sucky looking, pretty good blog” so I could show everything for you everything, every little details along with smallest thingies. I warn you, that if you want to create something for free, yes you guessed it – you have to work yourself. I’m warning you, I am geeky one, I know a lot of stuff you don’t know, like php, mysql, html and so on. I could have hired someone to do everything for me, but, as my grandfather said – give a net for a poor guy, instead of fish. Okay, now why would you ever want to do that? Let’s say you have money to invest, you could hire somebody, he could do everything for you and so on. But, I know lots of people, that were trying to earn money online, they had some bucks, they paid for services, freelancers, ebooks, yet they never earned a penny, right after wasting cash they gave up. I assume, that you are not experienced, otherwise, you wouldn’t be reading this post, don’t you (or you’re just seeking information)? So, if you have some money, and you’re diving into something you don’t know anything about – keep them. You could waste everything, could get shiny blog, lots of software, but do you have time machine? Do you really know if it’ll work? So, here’s what I would do – I would try everything for free, I would master all the techniques I know with as free tools as possible. I don’t say anything like “Do not try lead system with a great reputation, which trial costs 1$”, I am trying to say, that if there’s software, which costs 200$, you don’t have to pay to get it… *cough* cracks/keygens/patches *cough*. I just don’t want people to lose anything without knowing if they’ll succeed. I can’t imagine someone, with their last pants, without having money to eat buying an ebook, that just doesn’t show him anything basically. So, all I wanted to say today I think was, most of the things on the internet today are free. Even if they are not as good as paid ones, you still have something you could sharpen your skill on.
