How to Treat Eczema

Eczema is a common skin disease that can occur in infants, children and adults. The skin frequently has a scaly and inflamed appearance, and there may also be skin flaking, blisters which leak and then crust over, and extreme itchiness.

From mild annoyance and small rashes to extremely itchy, painful, bleeding sores eczema is a terrible condition for anyone to have. While eczema cannot be cured it can be controlled with a good eczema treatment that strengthens the body against the awful symptoms. These three treatments that are proven to work may seem like common sense but they are vitally important for your healthy skin.

Eczema can not be cured but it can be controlled, and the answers above are very correct in watching your diet you are making sure you are controlling the amount of 'triggers' that you are susceptible too. There are also other triggers that you need to be aware of, like the soaps you use for your skin, the creams you use to moisturize your skin, even the clothes you wear. One of the most important components of an eczema treatment routine is to prevent scratching. Because eczema is usually dry and itchy, the most common treatment is the application of lotions or creams to keep the skin as moist as possible.

Eating salads; the greenery is can be very good for your body's regeneration cycle. However when you eat a salad, I am not talking about a salad that you purchase from a fast food restaurant; it should be fresh greens that you purchase from the store. It should be a salad that consists of fresh greens; and should contain alfalfa sprouts.

Make a paste from the herb goldenseal and vitamin E oil. Use goldenseal in a powdered form, and mix with a little bit of vitamin E oil; add a small amount of honey and make a paste. Apply to inflamed area.

Moisturize your skin. Dry skin is one of the factors that worsens eczema. Therefore, it is important that you keep your skin moisturized and moistened. Do not use detergents and soaps, as these can strip the skin of its natural oils, leading to more dryness. Use moisturizing body wash or emollients instead. Aqueous creams maintain the skin’s natural oils and may even reduce your need to moisturize your skin. For severely dry skin, however, use thicker ointments, as light aqueous creams might not have much of an effect on it.

Neem is said to be very effective for eczema. You can use Neem oil or search for creams that contain Neem oil. You should be able to get this product from a natural food store.

Use a high-potency B-complex formula, 50 to 100 mg per day. It is needed for healthy skin and good blood circulation. Some skin problems are linked to a deficiency of vitamin B-6.

While most anti-itching creams don't cure eczema, there are a few that are found to be very effective. One such cream is hydrocortisone. Apply it and see if it helps. If it doesn't help then maybe you should visit a dermatologist. But wait, you don't need to spend your precious money just yet! There are many more ways to cure eczema!
