MONSOON DRIVING TIPS

• Remove all sun-film. Nothing messes up visibility during the monsoon up visibility during the monsoon, when you need it most, than this.
• Try to travel in pairs, at least, and between all vehicles, have at least one GSM and one CDMA phone.

• The monsoon and punctures go hand in hand. Consider investing in a rooftop tyre hold- it is pathetic to try and unload a full car in the rain to get at the spare.
• Avoid night driving during the monsoon; it is simply not worth the effort, even for highly experienced drivers.

• Read up about aqua-planning, and how cars can start behaving like boats in water that is just a few millimeters deep on the roads; then drive slow through water.
•
• Water in fuel is a real and terrible problem on the highways during the rains. Nothing much you can do about it expect be aware of the problem, and try to go to pumps that look reliable.
•
• Air-conditioning is brilliant during the rains-make sure to get fresh air into the cabin now and then, not just re-circulate.
•
Something happens to many drivers during the monsoons-they drive like idiots. Keep a lookout – and stay away from them.
