Monetize Your Blog. Before All Else: Drive Traffic with Article Marketing

By: Keith Smith

O.K. you have a blog up & running. You are outfitting it with utensils that make it easier for readers to participate in your forums. At this point, all you could do with is the readers. Here are a few hints to manoeuvre traffic to your blog using articles.

The biggest part of blogging is writing. In essence, it is an online chronicle. But, blogging has grown from just writing your feelings to informing the public about diverse subjects that you are engrossed in.

Every one of your posts is a fresh article for readers to set eyes on and absorb. But, who is going to catch a glimpse of all of those remarkable posts if you don't possess any traffic besides your cousin Phil and your mom?

Article Marketing

One technique to obtain the traffic you want is by displaying your name in the open. Article marketing is the act of submitting articles to directories where people can stumble on you. They may well even make a decision to post some of your work on their sites.

There are several benefits to article marketing:

o Foster reliability and visibility
o Build up your brand name
o Increase traffic to your blog (the foundation of this article)
o Marketing for your products

Employ that specialist expertise to let people see what you are able to do for them. Every article marketing site is different in their submission guidelines so read them all carefully. Getting published on some of the more trendy sites (ezinearticles.com, ehow.com, buzzle.com and others) is like on the spot credibility with the readers.

So, what will you put forward? If your blog has been up for a while, you could tender archived posts. Alter the titles to be more catching. This approach even if no one saw your posts on your blog, they get a second opportunity and so do you.

Consider rewriting your posts. Rewriting turns one article into quite a few. By fine-tuning what you have previously written, you can craft two original articles from that one. Each can be submitted to a different article directory.

While you are prepping your articles for submission, don't forget about optimizing your content for the search engines. Using keywords in your articles that search engines will pick up increases your page rankings for those terms.

In view of the fact that you are writing anyway, craft some articles to promote in new places. Every one of those articles can be rewritten to create further articles to use as a marketing tool to manoeuvre traffic to your blog. As soon as they are there, it is up to you to keep them wowed so they stay.
