By: Tim Vincent

There are many different hair loss treatments to choose. These vary in their charge and amount of success. In spite of the success and popularity of lines such as Propecia there are a reasonable amount of people who don't like the suggestion of taking pills on a regular basis to counter the causes of hair loss. Therefore, there is a great interest in more natural products in the hope that they won't damage the body. There is a long history of looking for the successful natural hair loss remedy. The scientific evidence for their success is usually quite vague, however this doesn't put people off trying them especially if they are simple to prepare and use.

Most of natural remedies use herbs and essential oils. Essential oils form the smells and tastes of a lot of plant products. They are also extracted to be used in aroma therapy products. The herbs and essential oils may be used by their selves or in the form of a blend. Here are some examples of natural remedies that can be used.

Rosemary and sage can be used to try and promote the health and making of hair follicles. They have to be boiled together and then the solid parts sieved out to leave the liquid portion. This is then applied as a rinse over the scalp. It is wise to do this after applying your shampoo.

Red pepper can be blended with water and then put on the bald or thinning patch. It is thought that the irritation of the pepper enlargens the blood supply in the skin and as a result promotes the health of the hair.

Aloe Vera can be used in a solution and applied to the head. It aids the healing of irritated scalp and cleans the hair follicles. In doing this, it promotes their health and can reduce hair loss. It is known that Aloe Vera can also promote hair growth by activating important growth enzymes in the hair follicles.

Safflower oil can be rubbed onto the scalp. This is another natural product that acts by opening up the blood capillaries in the scalp and accordingly swelling the blood supply to the hair in the scalp. This produces healthy conditions for aiding with hair regrowth.

Onion has been used for many years in relation to baldness. It can be massaged into the scalp before washing the hair. The onion reduces any irritation in the scalp and promotes a better blood supply to the hair follicles

In respect of Aromatherapy we can try a mixture of lavender and bay essential oils in an almond oil base. This should be rubbed into the scalp. The essential oils and massage endeavour to increase the flow of blood in the scalp and accordingly promote the health of hair follicles.

For people who don't want to have the bother of making your own natural ingredients there are commercially sold ones such as Revivogen. Its main active ingredients are natural substances which help to stop the formation of DHT. In this respect it works in the same way as Propecia. But, it is not used internally. It is only massaged onto the scalp. In addition to DHT inhibitors there are other substances included which are said to to block the receptors of mail hormones in scalp cells and also to promote hair growth

Whatever your thoughts on herbal applications, there is one definite thing which is that you will not come to any harm using them. In general they are also less costly too. If you are into natural
cures then it might be worth trying some out. Even if they don't work too well in respect of regaining lost hair they should help to keep the scalp in excellent condition which should help and keep the last follicles in good health.
