When temperatures rise, most women continue doing their makeup exactly the same way as before…the trick is knowing how to vary your routine by season… Do you know how? Many beauty magazines give how-tos on hair and makeup for the beach. That’s great, but what if you’re not on vacation? That’s why in this week I’ve decided to teach you a makeup trend ideal for this time of year to look great and fashion stylist – it’s fast and fresh…. Let’s get started! WHAT YOU’LL NEED In the summer, some facial products can be discarded or exchanged for lighter versions for the season... MOISTURIZER • Moisturizer comes first, and, as always, opt for one with sun protection. You don’t need to wear sunscreen every day to moisturize and protect your skin; a moisturizer with at least SPF15 or 20 will do. Just be sure to choose a liquid lotion that provides moisture without making skin greasy. FOUNDATION • A good choice for this season is a light liquid foundation that includes sun protection (for double protection.) • Another option is to give your foundation a rest during the summer and instead use an illuminating or bronzing powder if you have fair skin (such as in the photo). CONCEALER • If your foundation for the season is very light, it’s a good idea to cover minor imperfections by applying concealer on top of foundation instead of under it. This will keep you from applying too much product, while still achieving good coverage…many professionals always do it that way. ILLUMINATING POWDER • If you want to give your face a flattering touch of radiance, the key is to use an illuminating powder over your foundation. Powders are the easier to use…resulting in radiant skin! EYES Being that this is a fast makeup look, you'll only need: • White pearlescent eyeshadow • Black eyeliner • Mascara CHEEKS • Use pink, one of the top colors for the season. It’s very flattering. LIPS • If pink blush is fashionable and flattering, pink lip gloss is all the more so…. MAKEUP STEP-BY-STEP Follow these steps for application: SKIN • Once your skin has been moisturized, apply foundation with a brush or a sponge lightly moistened with water for a luminous and natural finish. • Apply cream concealer where needed, especially over undereye circles and in the corners of the eyes, and blend with fingertips. • Apply a touch of illuminating powder over the cheeks and forehead and blend... EYES • Eyeshadow Next, make up your eyes, beginning with a pearlescent white shadow over the entire lid, from the brow to the lash line. (If your lid has expression lines, use a matte shadow instead of a pearlescent one.) • Eyeliner Next, line your eyes. Have you ever tried eyeliner? It’s very flattering. Tip: Choose a cake eyeliner. It is much easier to apply than liquid eyeliners, which come with a brush already saturated with product. Also, instead of using an eyeliner brush, use a thin, short brush. If you don’t want to take a chance, try before you buy: Line eyes with black pencil and then set the pencil with a bit of black eyeshadow for the same effect. • Mascara Next, apply two coats of mascara… CHEEKS • Moving on to the cheeks, apply blush just to the apples. LIPS • Finally, do your lips. This time, instead of using a brush to apply the lip gloss, use your fingertips. You’ll have a more natural effect and fuller-looking lips. • Apply it to the center of your lips and then blend outward using small fingertip motions.
