Come October and the valley will wear a bridal mantle. The three-day long TAWANG BUDDHA MAHOTSAVA on the 13th, 14th and the 15th of October is an event that seeks to showcase the tradition and culture of the Monpas tribe.

The most exciting & colorful event of the festival is the competition of Dances. A mixture of traditional dances from the state as well as from other parts of the country, besides modern dances, is presented continuously for three days. Apart from various traditional dances of the Monpa tribe of Tawang, there are traditional dances of other tribes of Arunachal Pradesh like Nyshi, Adi, Mizi, Aka, Sherdukpens & Apatani too.

The traditional dress show will throw light on the bygone days of the Monpas & their traditional attire.

Sebang is an important religious ceremony of the Buddhists. In
This Ceremony 21 monks in their ceremonial attire walk in a procession to receive their spiritual leaders.

Choikor is an important ritual of the Buddhist & is believed to be a harbinger of peace & prosperity. The festival also includes a Food Festival, Flower show & various Games for entertainment.
