Travel Insurance – Winter Holidays

It’s that time of year again when thousands of winter sports fans flock to ski resorts all over Europe in order to catch the end of the ski season.

However, there are some people who continue to travel overseas for their skiing breaks but without the adequate holiday insurance. This is meaning that many people are left at risk of not getting any of their money back from their trips if they were to go wrong.

According to the British Insurance Brokers’ Association, those without the correct travel insurance policy will lose out, even if there are no accidents on the trip, there is always the chance of something else going wrong that is out of your hands, for example, the resort could close one or perhaps more of their ski slopes.

An executive for the British Insurance Brokers Association reminded skiers that they can get cover in case of ski slope closures but only if they have ensured that they have taken out the correct winter sports holiday insurance policy.

Research by a leading online price comparison site was released last month and showed that people who bought annual travel insurance could save more money than those who had opted for insurance for one-off trips.

An example of this was that single trip cover to the USA was 27 per cent more expensive than the annual cover.

This shows that by comparing your travel insurance quotes rather than simply opting for the first one you are offered, means that you could save a lot more money on your holidays.
