What are the important items to Include In Your Ebook

By: Manbeer Singh

There are some common elements found within any form of publication, however certain ones weigh more heavily with regards to online digital products, or ebooks. I've listed a few for you to review and given a brief explanation of each.

Images - A picture's worth a thousand words. You've heard it before. Now believe it. If you don't have your own images that you can use, consider purchasing some stock photos from www.istockphoto.com. Otherwise you'll risk gambling a copyright infringement, and that's not the worst of it.

All Rights Reserved - Unless you're willing to have your digital product (that you worked so hard on) pirated from right under you, then think seriously about how important this section is for you and your business.

Disclaimer - Pay close attention to the information that you're publishing and advocating. Let's say you're interested in health & nutrition, and you write an ebook on training programs or diet plans... Unless you are a certified trainer or a licensed nutritionist, then you'd better cover your bases and include a disclaimer indicating that you are not a legally licensed professional, and that the information you give is provided to be safe under the best of your knowledge.

About The Author - OK, this is your moment in the limelight. So shine here, and lend your credibility to your potential purchasers. Do not give an epic saga of your life, vocation, nor expertise - simply highlight those pertinent points that would peak your clients' interest in reading more and/or purchasing more from you.

Resources - I know this seems obvious, in and of itself. But it doesn't have to be a librarian's catalog, either. This is an excellent opportunity to give your clients FREE information sites related to your product(s). More importantly, include your personal Affiliate Links to products that you are promoting, in order to earn yourself some back-end sales commissions.

HUGE TECHNICAL TIPS:

1. To publish your ebook or digital product, use the free software here: www.openoffice.org
The reason for this is simply that you can EASILY save and export your documents immediately in PDF format – the industry standard for ebooks, or any compiled digital product.
2. Include page breaks in your formatting for each new major section.
3. Use www.tinyURL.com to mask your affiliate links in any of your ebook/digital product documents – it's unfortunately pretty common now for people to recognize your affiliate name within a hoplink where they can easily substitute their own, and steal your commissions.
