What do I use to host my blog for free?

Hello, the one which reads my article. Today I’ll tell you which services do I use to keep my blog as free as possible (I've never paid a cent for my blog).

Where do I host it?
x10hosting. I've never seen such a good hosting provider, which offers you free hosting, 2.5 GB of hard disk space (My blog so far is using 16 MB of this huge space chunk I’ve been given), 45 GB of monthly bandwith, If traffic goes wild, to about 2,000 visitors a day, pictures (which eat up most of the bandwith) can be hosted on another site, so one loading here would eat up to 45 KB of data, and by using calculator I’ve found out, that it’d take exactly 1,048,576 monthly visitors to kill my bandwith limit! (ONE MILLION!), newest php, cpanel 11 (only geeks will understand last two I’ve mentioned) and on and on and on… However, there is one obstacle… If you’ll ask a subdomain name from them, it’ll look retarded. Like mydomainnamesucks.x10hosting.com. In your shoes, I wouln't want that. I don't want my domain name to market anything - Except me!

Here comes co.cc! This is a FREE co.cc domain names provider. I’ve seen a commercial in stadium during the basketball match on TV. You know these boards around the basketball field, which usually advertise something, and which slide down after few seconds, or they are electronic, like TV’s, so they could change ad? You know what? I’ve seen site on an ad, which had an ending like siteicantremember.o2.uk. The point I’m trying to make is that if one guy, which booked a commercial with this domain name, with that type of ending (instead of .com, .net of whatever), weren’t ashamed of that being shown on TV, why the hell you should be? Second good thing is that co.cc is not widely known, WHICH means, most of the awesome domain names are not taken! Lets say you’re in MLM, I am pretty sure that there still have left a domain names like mlmtactics.co.cc or mlmstrategy.co.cc (YES, I've checked - while I wrote this article, they still were available) which are simple and and easy to remember for a user. If you want same with .com domain (domain, which rules the web now), you’ll have think something retarded, in my opinion, like mlmworldwidedomination.com (sounds like Hitler after rising from his grave!!) or mydomainnameissolongbecausemostofthegoodonesarealreadyownedbutitshouldbelikemlmtricks.com since majority of simple domains with .com ending are unavailable.

YET, if you have 10$ that you don’t really need, I advise you to go to godaddy.com and purchase a fine looking .com FOR ALL THE UPCOMING YEAR JUST FOR 10$!!! Pick wisely, because after purchase you can’t change it. Once I've bought .com, now I just don't have any uses for it, unless redirecting people to my blog (you can check yourself, type in your browser mlmtothemaximum.com and it’ll redirect you to my site). Why I don’t use it as a main domain name of my site? Reason is simple, it does not reflect the purpose of my blog. It can be .com, very close to meaning, but that's just not enough You can advertise ice cream on site called "cheap auto oil" - it will be same.

At the moment you have to connect your domain name to hosting. You’ll have to do it with nameservers feature. There's a nameservers tab in co.cc user panel. Write ns1.x10hosting.com at nameserver 1 row, and ns2.x10hosting.com at nameserver 2 row. After that go to your cpanel at X10HOSTING, and at domain names option write your domain name. Hour later, I guess, it should do it. There you are - you have site, with great hosting, coollookingdomainname.co.cc, and on top of that - EVERYTHING WAS FREE!!!
