  • EMPIRES OF THE MONSOON-FOR TRAVELERS  By : Rubby
    Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka doesn’t promote ‘monsoon tourism’ as aggressively as Kerala. But it may as well. The island country shares a lot with Kerala-landscape, culture, food, climate and more and now it is promoting ayurveda. The monsoon is the traditional season for ayurvedic treatments; it’s also the traditional season of the scared tourist. Which makes it a great time for the less timid to explore the beautiful country. Include the beach resort town of Bentota in your monsoon itinerary

  • TAJ MAHAL-ONE OF THE SEVEN WONDERS-INDIA  By : ravi
Agra, the city of the Taj Mahal, figures on the itinerary of every tourist to India.

If this is your first visit to the Taj, there is only one thing to remember – everything that has been said about it is at best inadequate. This mausoleum is a piece of poetry in marble; you will find yourself stopping before every marble screen, every bit of inlaid wall to marvel at the craftsmanship of those who created this architectural wonder. Recently, the Taj was voted amongst the Seven Wonders of the

    Snorkeller

On the Andaman island of Havelock, Rajan is a bit of a star. Actually,a big star. For, he is probably India’s only ocean-swimming elephant.
When elephants were transported to the Andamans to assist with logging operations, some adapted rather remarkably to their new environment. They took to the ocean, swimming between the islands in water over 100m deep. Logging operations have ceased but the elephant remain. And Rajan is the last of the swimmers.

    Brahmaputra Road-India
There’s something to be said for traveling along shorelines. I’ve chased the sea along India’s 8,000 km coast; but I’ve never followed a river before, and here I am, all set to drive up the second largest river in Asia-the Brahmaputra, along the Assam Valley.

Start at Guwahati and follow the Brahmaputra’s south bank past tea country right up to Parasuram Kund, 600 km away in Arunachal. The drive is green in every hue-lush paddy, wooded hills, manicured tea, and the gr
